The NOAO Data Products Program (DPP) is a
new program aimed at identifying scientifically interesting datasets
from ground-based O/IR telescopes and making them available to the
astronomical community together with the tools for exploring them.
NVO's objective is to
enable new science by greatly enhancing access to data and computing
resources. The NVO is developing tools that make it easy to locate,
retrieve, and analyze astronomical data from archives and catalogs
worldwide, and to compare theoretical models and simulations with
observations.
With the cooperation of NOAO/DPP, NOAO Deep Wide-Field Survey
(NDWFS) led by Dr.
Dey and Dr.
Jannuzi, Dr.
Szalay's OpenSkyQuery
project at JHU, and Jim Gray from Microsoft Research, the NOAO
OpenSkyQuery site was built to serve NOAO archive data through
NVO. The first dataset published is the NDWFS catalogs and images.
